Less is More
Here in the United States, more is always advertised as better. No matter what you already have, you should seek to get some more. Newer, better, stronger - it doesn't matter, you should just get some more. God provides us with a different perspective in the Scriptures. He likes to do more with less.
In Judges 6, we see that Israel was being oppressed by the Midianites because of their disobedience to the Lord. They called on the Lord for deliverance and He responded by raising up Gideon. Gideon called for an army and thousands of men responded to the message. Once the men had gathered, God said there were too many. “The Lord said to Gideon, ‘The people with you are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hand, lest Israel boast over me, saying, ‘My own hand has saved me’’” Judges 7:2 ESV (emphasis mine).
The Lord reduces the 22,000 down to 10,000 (7:3), but declares that there are still too many men (7:4). He then works that number down to 300 (7:5-7). He’s satisfied with that number and proceeds to send Gideon off to battle. Not only did God use fewer men, He used fewer weapons as well. The Israeli army came against their enemies with no swords. Lest you think the enemy army wasn’t that big a deal, check out Judges 7:12, “And the Midianites and the Amalekites and all the people of the East lay along the valley like locusts in abundance, and their camels were without number, as the sand that is on the seashore in abundance.” Three hundred men with no swords came against that host with the following - trumpets, empty jars, and torches (7:16). Trumpets, empty jars, and torches!
Trumpets, empty jars, and torches caused a massacre to break out and gave Gideon the victory (7:19-25). So the next time you think you don’t have enough or that you need more, remember that less is truly more with God. If you have Him, you have everything you need for any situation.

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God.” Mark 10:27 ESV
